Kissan Namma – Farmer’s Odyssey

The latest work depicting and documenting the struggle and sacrifices of Indian Farmers at more than a year long agitation that saw over 700 people loose their lives at the outskirts of New Delhi. The agitation saw large numbers of men, women and kids fighting against the unjust laws passed by Government of India in 2020. Called Farm Bills, the government passed these without consultation, were described as anti-farmer laws.

Farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, started protesting at Delhi’s borders against the three farm laws since November 2020 and the protests grew stronger and stronger. The resolute farmers agitation was a peaceful agitation that saw over 700 people died at the ground zero for various reasons.

Kissan Namma – a coffee table book authored by Harkirat Sandhar documents the agitation, the resolution and its highs and lows. The book is a historical reference for one of the most peaceful and longest agitation of modern times.
